1. Candolim & Calangute Beach

Two of the 3 most famous beaches of North Goa where you will find the most luxurious resorts of Goa by the beach namely Taj hotels. Located nearby to Fort Aguada from where the beaches of North Goa start and river meets the sea. These beaches are almost crowded with International and domestic visitors round the year. Famous for its golden sand, sunbeds with umbrellas, and watersport activities. Beachside shacks offering mouth-watering seafood and drinks add to the luxury of this beach wherein you can bath, relax, and enjoy sunset listening to the music formation by sea waves throughout the day. You can also enjoy watersports activities here like Jet-Ski, banana boat, parasailing, etc. On Calangute beach, you can get pure Veg Jain food for lunch and dinner. Its a paradise for street shoppers as the entrance is filled with local shops wherein you can get beachwear clothes, flipflops, sunglasses, etc. If you like then you can also make Tattoo (permanent and temporary).

2. Baga Beach

3rd of the list of Candolim – Baga stretch in North Goa next to Calangute beach. This is also a very famous beach and houses some of the famous cafes, pubs, and overnight party hubs. Usually crowded with all aged people from around the world makes it one of the happening places to be in Goa. Baga’s Tito’s and Mambo’s lane famous for Goa’s overnight parties. The lane is too lively with all the cafes and pubs in the lane playing live music and people enjoying and dancing to the beats.

Brittos is one of the famous shacks/ cafes on the Baga beach.

3. Anjuna Beach

Separated by the river from Baga beach and followed by the Ozran beach, Anjuna beach is famous for the day visitors who come here to enjoy the beach. Tourists come to Anjuna beach to watch a glorious sunset over the Arabian Sea as well.

Unlike the others, Anjuna is less sandy. Some stretches are even rocky. You will find many rocky outcrops here. There are many picturesque red laterite rocks here, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the Rocky Beach. There is famous beachside cafe Purple Martini.

4. Vagator Beach

Vagator beach is one of the most beautiful and popular North Goa beaches, especially with foreign tourists. It is between the Anjuna beach in the south and the Chapora River. Palm trees, mountains in the surrounding and clean blue water, 17th Century Portuguese Chapora fort makes this beach one of the best places to visit. You must hike to this Dil Chahta Hai fame Chapora Fort in the evening and witness the picturesque landscape of the sun meeting the sea in the evening making the sky pink.

There is famous Thalassa cafe where marriage of Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech took place. and this is the beach where famous Sunburn festival is organized.

5. Ashwem & Morjim Beach

Little Northside of the Vagator beach, crossing the Chapora River is the Morjim Beach and next is Ahwem beach. Morjim beach is also called Little Russia as you will mostly find Russian tourists over here. They sometimes party overnight on the beach and enjoy by the beachside shacks. Some of the beachside shacks are owned/managed by Russians as well. Famous rave parties happen on the Morjim beach.

Both beaches are usually very less crowded as compared to Calangute and Baga which makes them and water cleaner. The sea is flat, shallow, and quiet which makes this place an ideal beach for swimmers who don’t know swimming as well.

6. Palolem Beach

One of the famous, clean, serene beaches of the South Goa is Palolem Beach. Also know a Paradise Island of Goa. It is the southernmost beach of Goa nearby to the border of Karnataka. There is also a backwater at the northern end, which goes in to a small forested area.

There are also silent noise parties happening in Palolem. From here you can take a boat and travel to secluded unexplored butterfly beach and KanKon Island which is also very famous among couples and accessible by sea and trekking through the mountains.

7. CAVELOSSIM-MOBOR

Cavelossim and Mobor are two beaches in South Goa. Like Candolim-Calangute-Baga, this too is a single stretch of sand. They are both wide, sandy, clean, and secluded beaches. The Sal River meets the Arabian Sea here, making it a very interesting terrain. It makes a narrow stretch of land, with two water bodies on either side.

The southern end, where the Sal ends, is almost completely deserted. You will hardly find any tourists here, which makes it a great choice for a serene and relaxing holiday. There is a thick coconut and palm forest here.

Cavelossim and Mobor are both upmarket areas of South Goa having luxury resorts. The Leela and Holiday Inn, both 5-star properties, dominate. There are only a few beach shacks, where you will find guests from these two hotels. There are, however, a few luxury villas and guest houses on the riverside. These are also pretty safe for swimming.
